Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Ceremony (Kirtronica)
The Healing Hale Presents…Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda Kirtronica-An Ecstatic Dance and Chant Experience with an Opening Cacao Ceremony   Looking for a devotional dance experience?  Look no further. Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda lead people through an ecstatic dance journey that awakens the shakti, inspires devotional trance states and deepens the connection with the divine.  Imbued with the power of their own spiritual practice, they both sing and chant live with the addition of Ananda’s bansuri flute playing. Each song invokes specific healing effects on the body, mind, and spirit, drawing us into movement through mantras, beats, and live instrumentals. Whether singing along, moving to the rhythms, or just listening—Kirtronica is intended to awaken the sacred within all of us.   They will be opening the evening with a healing and heart opening cacao ceremony. Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda’s cacao ceremonies are a coming together to open the heart, express creatively and rejoice with the spirit of the cacao. Woven with heart songs, prayers and laughter, the ceremony is a time to express gratitude for the cacao spirit and allow for that spirit to blossom infinite possibilities within you.  The Cacao that will be used is a very special type that a cacao shaman selected personally for its energetic qualities. It comes from Guatemala, the heartland of the Mayan people who have used it for millennia. We’ll learn about cacao’s origins, history, heath benefits and energetic/spiritual qualities and get to experience pure cacao with new levels of awareness and appreciation.  For more about thier cacao ceremonies, please visit: https://jayalakshmiandananda.com/cacao-ceremony ‘Kirtronica’ is a term for a new genre of music that is currently being established in the yoga world which is electronic dance music combined with live Sanskrit/Indian chanting and singing over it. Jaya Lakshmi was one of the pioneers of ‘Kirtronica’ with her previous band “Lost at Last”, founded in Maui, Hawaii in 1997. Over the last few years Jaya Lakshmi has composed original electronic music using Ableton Live. Similar to the the Lost at Last sound, her new music is a mixture of house and tribal trance beats, with (recordings of) acoustic instruments like tabla, guitar, flute, and sarod.   “From the heart-opening strains of their sumptuous traditional kirtan to the wild blend of contemporary rhythms and sounds they call Kirtronica, Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda’s divine harmonies will keep you riding waves of devotion from the meditation hall to the dance floor, and most everyplace in between. ” Janet Stone (Yoga teacher)
