Kirtan Leader Showcase w. MC + The Shakti Groove
Join us for a fun and interactive evening of sacred chant in an intimate setting! This Kirtan event will present original and highly accessible chants, connection with self/others/Divine, and a beautiful community. We will feature several of the professional Kirtan Leaders who study at the Kirtan Leader Institute.
Kirtan (call and response sacred chanting) is fun and easy. Chanting will open your heart, calm your mind, and free your soul. No prior experience is required.

ABOUT MIKE COHEN
Mike Cohen, MA is founder of Kirtan Leader Institute. Since 2010 he has trained and apprenticed hundreds of aspiring and emerging Kirtan Leaders across the globe from total beginners to several he has guided to create/release Kirtan albums, play at festivals and tour nationally.
A life-long musician with 16 years experience developing leaders, Mike created a proven methodology for training and apprenticing Kirtan Leaders based around five relevant domains for leading Kirtan: Musicianship, Leadership, Community Building, Entrepreneurship and Spirituality. Work within these 5 domains helps Kirtan Leaders build skill and confidence in serving others through the ancient/modern practice of sacred chant.
Mike has released four critically acclaimed albums, and is currently creating new music with Grammy Award nominated producer Ben Leinbach (Jai Uttal, Krishna Das, Deva Premal). For over a decade, Mike has toured North America, offering accessible and potent Kirtan events in yoga studios, healing centers and at yoga/chant festivals. ABOUT THE SHAKTI GROOVE
The core members of The Shakti Groove include vocalist Dawnia Dresser, cellist James Hoskins and percussionist Ken Matarazzo. This group launched in 2017, sharing Kirtan across CO, teaching in the Kirtan Leader Institute and sharing their soulful Kirtan at Sedona Yoga Festival, Telluride Yoga Festival and Bhakti Fest. The core group frequently expands to include bassists Bill McCrossen, Dango Rose and Brent Keucker, vocalists Robyn Broyden, Toni Marinkovich and Michele Heaphy, and Madhu Das, Noah Wilson and other incredibly talented and open hearted musicians.
