Musical Ceremony w/ Cacao: I,Star, Incus and JWow
We’re gathering Friday, Dec. 6th for a Sacred Celebration with Cacao, Music, Singing, Dancing, and the Sharing of Truths, with I,Star from North Carolina, with a stripped down version of Incus from Mass, and with JWow, formerly Julie One Word Woods. We are coming together at Floating Lotus-Gloucester, located at 169 Main St.Gloucester, MA $20 Advance/$25 Door/All Ages From the heart of Appalachia, I,Star rises… Encompassing a core fusion of husband-wife duo, MC/poet Truth-I Manifest’s potent lyrical flow, and singer/songwriter Aradhana Silvermoon’s angelic melodies, I,Star’s performances are a dynamic interplay of hard-hitting rhymes weaving through evocative refrains, building to harmonies in the hooks.  Their wholly original “folk-hop” carriage bears keen commentary on personal and global transformation, ancient wisdom, stewardship of the Earth, social justice, and Love amidst it all. Whether in configuration as a duo with acoustic guitar and bare vocals, a live band, or their own booming production backbeats, I,Star inspires listeners to  groove deeply and journey into their rich imagery and soundscapes.  Displaying wide, genre- crossing versatility with influences of funk, world, reggae, and rock to accent their folk-hop essence, I,Star’s music has broad appeal to lovers of many flavors. In the expanding constellation of progressive and conscious musical offerings, these luminaries shine brightly.Check out I,Star’s music! Incus Deeply inspired medicine music that feeds the soul. Drawing on varying influences both musical and spiritual, Incus stands beyond simple definition in it’s musicality and style.   The band is equally at home rocking out onstage plugged in or acoustic, in cathedrals with choirs, or at fire festivals and ceremonies around the country. They have gained appreciative followings from these diverse settings. During the last many years, Incus toured countless miles, making music at 100’s of fires and festivals including Burning Man, Envision Festival, Unifier Festival, Gratifly Festival, DiscJam, PermaJam, Zen Awakening, Devotionfest, Boston Green Fest, Firedance, Fractalfest, Boston’s Trinity Church, and at various venues in the US and in Central America. On this night: Jason Cohen-accordion & vocals, Nash Atkins-guitar, Jed Blume-tablas and percussionCheck out their last album Reconciliation
