Your 9-week training program presents a meticulously crafted journey, each week dedicated to exploring a different deity through various immersive and interconnected practices. This comprehensive approach promises a deep and holistic understanding of each deity, integrating their essence into various aspects of the training. You can also pick and choose which modules to take, though I highly recommend the full training.
- Deity Focus: Each week, we will concentrate on a specific deity. This focus will allow participants to dive deep into the mythology, symbolism, and spiritual significance of each deity, creating a rich, contextual backdrop for the practices of the week.
- 1-2 Chants per Deity: You will learn 1 to 2 chants dedicated to the weekly deity. These chants are not just melodies and words; they are spiritual tools that connect us more deeply with the divine qualities of the deity. The learning process will be both educational and experiential, ensuring that participants not only learn the chants but also understand and feel their deeper meanings.
- Yoga Class Themed to the Deity: The yoga sessions each week will be specially themed to the deity of the week. This thematic approach will include asanas, pranayama, meditation, and possibly mantras or kriyas that resonate with the deity’s attributes. These classes aim to embody the essence of the deity in your yoga practice, creating a powerful and transformative experience.
- Singing Lessons: Weekly singing lessons will be an integral part of the training. These sessions will focus on developing and refining your vocal skills, tailored to enhance your chanting and devotional singing. The lessons will be designed to support the chants you are learning, helping to integrate your vocal development with your spiritual practice.
This 9-week program is an immersive journey that blends the learning of sacred chants, the embodiment of deities through yoga, and the enhancement of vocal abilities. It’s an invitation to deepen your understanding of bhakti and kirtan, to transform your practice, and to connect more profoundly with the spiritual essence of each deity.

Bhakti Yoga Practice
In this transformative training, I will be guiding participants through the profound and integrative devotional practices of Sattva Yoga, as imparted by the esteemed Anand Mehrotra. This comprehensive approach to yoga is accessible to practitioners of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced yogis.
Our journey together in Sattva Yoga will encompass a rich tapestry of spiritual elements:
- Kriyas: These are elevating movements, designed to activate and balance your energy centers, fostering a deeper connection with your inner self.
- Asanas: The physical postures in our practice will not only enhance your physical flexibility and strength but also serve as a conduit for spiritual growth and inner harmony.
- Pranayama: These breath and energy practices are pivotal in Sattva Yoga. They are instrumental in harmonizing the flow of prana (life energy) throughout your body, leading to a state of profound inner peace and vitality.
- Dhyana: Meditation practices in this tradition are designed to cultivate a deep sense of mindfulness and heightened awareness, guiding you towards elevated states of consciousness.
Sattva Yoga is a holistic practice, aiming to nurture and transform all levels of your being. Its impact is not just physical or mental, but deeply spiritual, facilitating healing, upliftment, and awakening. This style shares similarities with Kundalini Yoga as taught by KRI, known for its potent transformative effects.
A unique aspect of our practice will be the integration of deity-focused elements. By incorporating mantras, kriyas, and meditations tailored to various deities, we will deepen our connection with the essence of bhakti – the path of devotion. This approach not only enhances the physical and mental aspects of yoga but also enriches the spiritual experience, allowing for a more profound embodiment of the bhakti practice.
Join us on this journey to explore the depths of your being, to heal, awaken, and rise to elevated states of consciousness through the holistic and spiritually enriching practice of Sattva Yoga.
