Relax & Recharge with Nidra & Restorative Yoga
Join us the 2nd Friday of every month for this amazing experience. Nidra is a guided meditation through verbal instruction which promotes the deepest relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. This is the same state of being between the stages of wakefulness and sleeping. In this ‘going-to-sleep’ state, hormone production increases in the pineal gland- including the hormone melatonin- which is responsible for better sleep, reduced stress, anxiety and related symptoms while increasing immune function. With regular practice of yoga nidra, mental performance is increased due to a balancing effect of the brain’s two hemispheres.
These particular movements cultivate inner listening and heighten proprioceptive awareness. It allows the body’s innate intelligence to be re-awakened by increasing sensory awareness and restoring inner-balance and peace- resulting in overall increased wakefulness and vitality in all daily experiences.
Restorative Yoga is a powerful tool for stress, anxiety management, better sleep cycles and overall nervous system health. These practices may help ease anxiety, tension headaches, neck pain, body discomfort and sleep disturbances from daily work stressors by learning short and simple restorative techniques to reset the nervous system.
