In the practice of SomaVeda® Thai Yoga, we use our hands, feet, knees, elbows, forearms and whole body along with martial arts and yoga principles. It focuses on the dynamic flow of gentle yet highly effective movements through precise body mechanics, and places a strong emphasis on practicing in a sustainable way.

The focus of this course is to introduce and teach you the fundamental positions, body mechanics, and movements of SomaVeda® Thai Yoga and other Indigenous Therapies offered in the SomaVeda® Seven Day Program (continued in Levels 2-6).

You will receive extensive hands-on training and mentoring, and gain confidence by practicing the movements and positions on each other.

When you have completed the course, you will be equipped with the skills, movements, and confidence to give a 35 to 50 minute SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Session.

SomaVeda® Thai Yoga principles and attitudes

Sustainable practice body mechanics — how to maximize effect without sacrificing your own body in the process

Techniques in all of the 5 SomaVeda® Thai Yoga attitudes (positions) — Supine, Side-Lying, Prone, Supine II, and Seated Positions

SomaVeda® Thai Yoga is the foundation of a comprehensive system of healing, founded by Dr. Anthony James, Dean of the SomaVeda College of Naturopathic Medicine. Practitioners of SomaVeda® learn to facilitate a holistic, therapeutic experience for their Clients, Friends, and Family, drawing not only from Traditional Thai Yoga (Thai Physical Therapy), but also from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Native American Medicine, Naturopathy & Emotional Freedom Technique.
