Salif Bamakora
Salif Bamakora plays the rare and majestic 21 string harp known as the Kora, descending from the Manding people of West Africa. The deep and mystical polyrhythmic nature of the Kora comes alive with Salif’s masterful playing. In the last 2 decades, he has had the great honor of studying with many world-renowned kora players, such as Madou Sidiki Diabate, Toumani Diabate, Yacouba Sissoko, and Balla Tounkara.
Blending the traditional Malian roots of Kora with his own distinct instrumental voice, Salif’s compositions are soul-stirring and otherworldly. Salif’s musical practice is a spiritual path embodied, his creative expression channels a deep, authentic, and divine connection.
