His Holiness the Dalai Lama engages in a dialogue on “Cultivating our Common Humanity amidst Uncertainty”, an initiative of Mind & Life Europe, from his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India on September 17, 2020.

​The meeting explores what insights the western scientific and Buddhist traditions offer for fostering the sense of common humanity and universal responsibility as a way of living amidst uncertainty, to promote cooperation rather than conflict, and to develop wisdom and compassion.

About the Author

His Holiness the Dalai Lama

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, describes himself as a simple Buddhist monk. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet. He was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktser, Amdo, northeastern Tibet. At the very young age of two, the child who was named Lhamo Dhondup at that time, was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso.
