INTEGRITY AS A PATH TO HAPPINESS
Daylong Workshop With Sharon Salzberg and Sylvia Boorstein
10am – 4pm at UCLA Young Hall
Sharon and Sylvia explore the path to an enlightened heart and mind—through the lens of integrity.
The Buddha is said to have focused on developing the qualities of virtue—Generosity, Morality, Renunciation, Wisdom, Energy, Patience, Truthfulness, Determination, Lovingkindness and Equanimity—as the basis for his liberation, through keen and loving attention.
We explore how these virtues are manifestations of wisdom, as well as support for that wisdom. For example, behaving morally assures a guilt-free mind, which is an act of compassion in itself. The perfection of these virtues assures that we can benefit from a greater degree of peace and freedom in our everyday lives, regardless of the situations we find ourselves in.
There will be a 90-minute lunch break. There are several restaurants nearby.
