Cacao Ceremony Facilitator Training
Saturday, March 11th, 1 pm-8:30 pm at the Montague Retreat Center, 177 Ripley Rd. Montague, MA
At the training, Moses and Jason will share knowledge from their 30 + years of experience with holding ceremony. This is a one-day deep dive into cacao as a plant medicine and how to facilitate cacao ceremonies. If you already facilitate cacao ceremonies, join us to expand your tool kit
There will be musical, movement, and meditative aspects, as well as time for journaling and reflection.
Please bring items to co-create an altar. We intend to help cultivate and support your unique approaches to holding ceremonies.
Before the training, we will send out a multi-page packet to help you prepare.
Accommodations are available through the Retreat Center for those of you that would like to stay.
Moses is the co-founder of embue cacao and has been working with cacao for over a decade and training others in this medicine for over 6 years. They source their Cacao from small family farms in the ‘Laguna Lachua’ region of north-central Guatemala.
Jason has facilitated ceremonies since before the new millennium. The 501(c)(3) he directs puts on gatherings that focus on heart, spirit, music, dance, and a connection with nature and each other.
Please note that this training does not pull from specific cacao ceremonial cultures, such as Mayan or Aztec. Our earliest evidence of cacao is from over 5,000 years ago in South America. The medicine has been used in many places by many people. We are thankful for the nature of the medicine, and we aim to bring people together with respect to all the people that have worked with Cacao.
The MRC is a BIPOC and queer friendly space.
